Prologue

Welcome to my Sabbatical blog! I hope to update regularly during my time away. This is me in front of the church with my pre-sabbatical shave and haircut. Here is my itinerary: I leave April 16 for Antigua, Guatemala, where I will study Spanish at the Probigua language school. While there I will live with a local family. May 3- 8 my sister Janet, who lived in Guatemala for two years after high school, will come to visit, and we will travel together, visting several Presbyterian mission co-workers living in Guatemala. I return home May 15.

After two weeks at home, which will include Andrea's graduation from Simon's Rock College with an associates degree, and Cheryl and my 25th wedding anniversary, I leave June 1 for France with Andrea. We are meeting my brother Doug, who will pop over from London, for a day, before a week at Taize, near Macon. Then we will stop through Chartres, and three days in Paris.

June 14 I meet Kelsey in Glasgow, where we will travel to Iona for a week, followed by a day in the highlands and three days in Edinburgh, before flying home.

Then Cheryl and I will join her father and his wife for a week in Sonoma County visiting the wine country. Then back to work July 13!
